Project Duration

[1.11.24 - 30.07.25] 9 months

This project, delivered in partnership between the University of Leeds, UKFT and ReLondon, aims to map and assess how post-consumer textiles are currently sorted and graded based on product type, quality, and end-market requirements and analyse the composition of current post consumer textiles feedstock.

It will also evaluate the feedstock needs of key players in the domestic circular economy. The goal is to identify opportunities for retaining and managing post-consumer textiles within the UK. The project will involve a range of stakeholders, including textile sorters, waste authorities, waste management companies, non-profits, brands with take-back systems, recyclers, resale platforms, upcyclers, and remanufacturers. The findings will help assess current and future infrastructure capabilities, providing valuable insights to support strategies for improving domestic circular markets”
