Dr Rosie Hornbuckle

University of the Arts London

Rosie Hornbuckle is Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Complex Design Collaborations, Associate of Service Futures Lab and co-founder of the Complex Design Collaborations Research Group at University of the Arts London. Rosie’s research focuses on working across disciplines and sectors, and in multi-stakeholder contexts to develop design methodologies for complex systemic transitions. Rosie has developed her practice through enacting translational approaches, often by developing visual and tactile tools and methods, within the context of large consortia innovation projects aimed at impact.

Rosie led the development of a dedicated learning resource – the HEREWEAR HUB which brought together knowledge from 15 partners co-created over 4 years, funded by an EU H2020 Innovation Action grant. Methods of enabling communication, reconciling differences in culture and language, translating concepts, and mobilizing knowledge to foster mutual understanding is what defines Rosie’s research practice and evolving expertise. Within the Future Fibres Network+ Rosie is bringing co-design methods to support knowledge sharing and network-building activities, and leads a PlusPot grant – CollaborAcademy – which aims to co-design a syllabus for collaborative skills development.
