Sandpit Meeting at University of Huddersfield Post-Event Summary

Event Summary

The University of Huddersfield hosted a very successful event on Tuesday 3 September.  We designed the day to incorporate a mixture of presentations, workshops and networking.  In order to ensure maximum knowledge exchange we paired academics with businesses such as Camira Fabrics and CorkSol UK who presented their challenges and discussed, together with the audience, their potential solutions.  There was a call for honest and open collaboration to solve these challenges together.

Paul Dudley from AW Hainsworth & Sons concluded his session with:

“There are no secrets. If we collaborate, we can make a better world for textiles.”

We concluded that sustainability in the fashion and textile industry is being driven by the passion of industry experts.  Collaboration between interested parties continues to grow.
